The name FinnFox is a blend between our family's name - which means fox - and our Finnish background.

Our story started in Finland, building with family from a young age. We built everything - summer camps, houses, sheds - you name it, we did it. And of course, every dwelling had to have a sauna! The building standards in Finland are very strict and have to be followed to the letter, even in the middle of the forest.

After immigrating to Canada in 2014, we started helping friends to build saunas and in 2019, we started our business so we could share our traditional Finnish building values and modern techniques in the growing sauna market in North America.

Using high-quality materials and Finnish building know-how, our saunas are built to last from generation to generation. We also renovate saunas and strive to bring quality ventilation and heat into every hotroom.

Our customers and their best sauna experience are at the heart of everything we do.

Health benefits galore

FoundMyFitness : Dr. Rhonda Patrick engages the public on a variety of sauna topics including benefits of exposing the body to hormetic stressors (hormesis is your body's positive response to minor stressors), such as through exercise, fasting, sauna use or heat stress, or various forms of cold exposure, and the importance of mindfulness, stress reduction, and sleep. An article in the journal Medical Hypothesis, written by Ramirez, Sanchez and Pirskanen called Hydrothermotherapy in prevention and treatment of mild to moderate cases of COVID-19 explains their theory on why and how heat has the potential to prevent COVID-19 and to decrease the severity of mild and moderate cases of the Corona virus.

Did you know that sauna bathing may help prevent dementia? Paul Knekt et al. published a study in 2020 in the journal Preventative Medical Reports showing that sauna bathing frequency was related to a reduced risk of dementia after factoring in sociodemographic, lifestyle and metabolic risk factors.

1) How much does your base model cost?

At the moment, each unit is custom made and the price varies according to the size, the materials and the finishings that you choose. Rest assured that each unit's quote is calculated according to current market prices and based on your specifications.

2) Do you build on site?

Yes we do. Building on site within a 100 km radius of Thunder Bay, ON is included in the price of the sauna. Longer trips and accommodation are negotiated separately. There is also the option of building in Thunder Bay and shipping the unit to your location. This too is negotiated separately.

3) Do you have a warranty for your saunas ?

We stand behind our saunas and offer a 5-year warranty on all saunas we build on site. However, if the sauna site was not prepared by Finnfox Sauna, then we approach warranty situations on a case-by-case basis.

If you have any trouble due to defective materials, we can replace them.

We don't replace complete saunas, parts of saunas or finishings that are damaged due to misuse, hard use, damage caused during transport, accidents or fires.
